What is still missing from the transitioning experience
Gaps identified for CSV leadership review and resolution before page publication.
Gap 01 — Pre-Separation
TAP and Pre-Separation Resources
No section addresses service members still on active duty within 24 months of separation. The Transition Assistance Program (TAP), SkillBridge healthcare listings, and pre-separation financial planning tools belong here.
Gap 02 — Healthcare Specific
Specialty-Specific Professional Bodies
Military healthcare professionals include dentists, pharmacists, PAs, PTs, and behavioral health providers. Resources for non-nursing and non-physician specialties are absent from this page entirely.
Gap 03 — Research and Education
HOW Factor Research and Publications
As the POISE assessment instrument and HOW Factor National Study produce publishable findings, a research and thought leadership resource section positions CSV as an evidence-based authority, not only a service provider.
Gap 04 — Families
Family and Caregiver Support
Military families carry the transition burden alongside the veteran. No resources currently address spouses, dependents, or caregivers who are themselves navigating the institutional exit alongside the healthcare professional.
Gap 05 — Legal
Legal Assistance and Benefits Claims
Discharge upgrades, benefits claims appeals, VA claim assistance, and legal aid organizations serving veterans are entirely absent. This is a significant gap given the complexity of VA systems for healthcare professionals.
Gap 06 — Navigation
A Filter or Quiz to Guide Visitors
A resource-heavy page without navigation logic loses the visitor in the first 30 seconds. A simple intake prompt such as “Where are you in your transition?” routes visitors to the most relevant sections and increases time on page.
Gap 07 — Organizations
A Section for Healthcare Organizations
Hospital systems, health networks, and defense health agencies visiting this page need a clear pathway. A “For Organizations” section with CSV partnership, speaker, and consulting inquiries converts organizational traffic into strategic relationships.
Gap 08 — Spiritual and Whole-Person
Chaplaincy and Whole-Person Wellness
Military culture deeply values chaplaincy, faith-based support, and holistic wellness. No resources currently address the spiritual or whole-person dimension of transition, which is central to the Code PURPLE framework and SDOT factors.
